CAREERS WITH BOYER TOWING

We hire captains, mates, deckhands, and engineers to work aboard tugs and barges across every region of Washington and Alaska, with project-specific charters reaching all corners of the Pacific and other national and international waters.

The work is hard, and the weather is not always on your side. Crews run long hitches, often a long way from anywhere, including home. There are days that will test you, but there are other days, too — the ones with the sun on your face, wind and seas on your stern — when the view from the deck is the finest on earth, and only you and your shipmates get to see it.

It takes grit to be a mariner, and it takes a somewhat adventurous soul. This life doesn't suit everyone, and that's alright. The ones who have it in them know exactly why they do it — the work, the pay, the benefits, and a crew that becomes not just colleagues but friends and family. At sea, you look out for one another, and the only way through is together.

It’s said we all come from the sea, but we are not all of the sea. Those who are tend to make a lasting and meaningful career of it, and a good number of the Boyer Towing crew have been with us a very long time.
