What We Do

Contract Towing & Barging
We move freight, equipment, materials, and military supplies by ocean — coastwise and ocean-going towing, nationally and internationally, rather than scheduled line haul service. Our US-flagged, Jones Act–compliant tug boats and deck barges are Boyer-owned and operate under charter, whether that's a single delivery, a de-mob, or an ongoing contract running weekly, monthly, or year-round — built around what you actually need shipped and when it needs to arrive.
Scheduled line haul service works well when your cargo fits a provider's schedule or size and content restrictions. When it doesn't fit those requirements, that's contract work — oversize loads, an odd destination, a delivery window tied to a construction sequence. That's what we do, wherever the job takes us.

Construction & Project Support
Construction materials, heavy equipment, vehicles, drill rigs, generators and prefabricated housing modules are all cargo we move on a regular basis, delivered to sites from Alaska to remote locations across the Pacific islands, Caribbean, Central America and beyond. We've been supporting construction work in places most carriers won't go and know exactly what a project schedule does to a delivery window.
We work as a prime contractor and as a marine subcontractor, handling mobilization and de-mob alike. If you're putting a bid together and need marine transportation priced into it, get in touch early. The sooner we see the scope, the more useful our number is.

Terminal & Freight Services
We own and operate seven terminals across Puget Sound and Southeast Alaska. Owning the docks and property means we can stage, load, and discharge at our own facility utilizing our own cranes, forklifts and equipment rather than waiting on somebody else's berth or depending on outside labor.

Where We Work
Year-round service in Puget Sound, the British Columbia coast, and Southeast Alaska has been the heart and soul of the Boyer business since day one. We also consider Western Alaska, the Aleutian Islands, and the Arctic our home waters. Beyond that, charter work has taken us as far as Australia, the US East Coast, South America, the Indian Ocean, and the Southern Pacific. Our Seattle terminal — Boyer Towing headquarters — gives us a strategic launching point for freight consolidation and preparation to reach each and every region of the globe we provide service.
How a Job Comes Together
Step one is a conversation, not a form. Tell us what needs to move, where it's originating from, where it's going, and when it has to be there.
Step two, send us the scope of work. A cargo list, if you have one — or a materials list with type and volume works just as well. With that information, we can right-size the tug and barge and get you the best pricing possible. If this is a service contract involving a work platform or an extended work period, send us the overall project plan so we can see how the tug and barge fit into it. Without this information, we're shooting from the hip.
Step three, we're straight with you. If we're the right outfit for the job, we'll tell you why. If we're not, we'll say that too — and typically point you toward an alternative solution.
Call 206-763-8696 or email info@boyertowing.com with the details, and we'll price it.
